Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have seen our communities and families challenged like never before. Western Financial Group’s charitable arm, the Western Communities Foundation, recognizes this and has supported the 130 communities we live in since 2001.
We have walked with you through hard times before. Our commitment to help our communities has always been and will always be steadfast.
Many families are experiencing food shortages. In many cases, we’ve seen how it is affecting our local communities. With school closures, our youth, whose families rely on food programs, no longer have access. Thirty-four per cent of the Canadian population that relies on food banks are children.
Plus, the food bank system is already challenged by devastating impacts.
As Western, we have been guided by our mission to serve for 19 years. We are humbled to provide resources to help organizations help residents in need via critical programming.
Serving others aligns with our guiding principles of Truthfulness, Fairness, Value and Loyalty.
How the program works:
Our branch teams remain community champions and it is through the Community Food & Nutrition Emergency Fund Program that we can continue caring for our communities in a way we are used to.
