Giving back more than $3.6 million to the communities we serve fills our insurance experts with joy, especially our Saskatchewan champion Michael Van Dorpe, Nipawin and White Fox branch manager.
Our Western Financial Group Communities Foundation, through which we support youth leaders, strengthen the places where we live, work and play and assist during crises, is vital to Michael.
“The Communities Foundation solidifies to our clients that Western cares about the communities we reside in,” he said, noting his branches always jump at the chance to support local charities.
The Nipawin branch has donated over $33,000 to organizations such as the Salvation Army, Nipawin Region Health Foundation (NRHF), Nipawin Nutrition for Kids Inc and bursaries to deserving students.
Michael shared he’s most proud of the contribution his branches made to the Canadian Fallen Heroes Foundation, a Regina-based charity that helps put faces to names of Canada’s wartime dead.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to forever preserve their memory and as a registered charitable organization, we would like to thank our many supporters and volunteers…” their website states.
This organization’s ability to create oak frame prints of our veterans’ faces means they will never be forgotten. Michael explained his team’s desire to help aid the Canadian Fallen Heroes Foundation.
It was another chance to help local legion members feel pride and know Western supports veterans. Supporting charities locally in Nipawin and White Fox does not go unnoticed by the community, he said.
Michael supports the NRHF, Ducks Unlimited, Nipawin Events Inc. (PBR) and shared how he motivates his team to support the Western Financial Group Communities Foundation.
“A reminder of what we have been able to donate back to the community is all it takes,” he said.
