Prince George BC is located right in the middle of breathtaking British Columbia and is known as BC’s Northern Capital. We are surrounded by trees, rivers, lakes and beautiful land for miles. From our humble beginnings as a logging town on a river 100 years ago, Prince George residents have always committed to one another. At a population of 80,000, we maintain what we would call a small town mentality, with businesses and residents looking after each other.
Our Western branch has always sought to give back and reinforce the culture that community is everything. Through fundraising endeavors and Western Communities Foundation infrastructure grants as well as matching grants, we have raised money for the following:
- Prince George Minor Football
- Prince George Minor Hockey
- Prince George Spruce Kings Hockey Club
- Hospice House Society
- Multiple Sclerosis Society
Heart and Stroke Foundation
- Two Rivers Crime Prevention Society
- Polaris Montessori School
- SPCA Paws For a Cause
- British Columbia Northern Exhibition
We have also had staff members attend local community events, job fairs and car shows. We simply want to continue to take care of the people that take care of us. Here in BC’s Northern Capital, the Western culture is strong.
